Zydomaar was the Derimzo homeworld, located in the Range of Everstand, a region of space in the Weneen sector of the Outer Rim.
History[]
The planet was discovered in 843 BBY by a small convoy of merchant ships chased off of their regular route to Taris by pirates. Many of the merchants began trading various supplies for treasures of the Derimzo culture and the news of the new world discovered quickly spread to Taris and soon traders and sentientologists flocked to Zydomaar for a piece of the world that was rumored to be full of treasure.
Because the Derimzo were surprisingly comfortable with the alien visitors, their culture assimilated to galactic society quickly. By 750 BBY, the First Spaceport of Zydomaar was constructed and settlers from other worlds were coming to the planet. Many Derimzo were already learning skills such as piloting, mechanical engineering, droid manufacturing, and computer programming, by this time. However, in 137 BBY, investments of Czerka Arms and the Trade Federation on Zydomaar came into conflict with each other, forcing the Derimzo into a compromising position. A compromise was reached between the two massive organizations but it was one unfavorable to the Derimzo and Zydomaar became a world massively indebted to the Trade Federation.
Thus, when the Clone Wars began, Zydomaar had no choice but to join the Confederacy of Independent Systems. When the planet was liberated by the Republic, the Derimzo welcomed the clone army as heroes. They also were favorable toward the Galactic Empire until about 4 BBY when Imperial stormtroopers deposed the mayor of First Spaceport for suspected sedition. From then on, relations between the Empire and Zydomaar were strained. In 4 ABY, Zydomaar joined the Alliance of Free Planets.
In 487 ABY, 3X-AK2R travelled to the planet and assassinated an Oxoorian named G. C. Lemoss, the last being in the galaxy with any ties to the Telosian Concordat.
