The Zarkan Empire, also known by its nickname Grand Empire, was a historical empire established by the Grand Family in 853 BBY on the planet Earth, located on the continent Aerman.
Immediately at the end of the Ultranationalist Era, the Grand Family established this empire to better combat the much larger Jenkyns Empire and as such, members of the Grand Family served on the Grand Council alongside military officers who were appointed by the King and Queen.

Zarkan-Jenkyns War[]
War of South Point[]
In late 853 BBY, the Grand Council received reports of Jenkyns Empire troops amassed near South Point's western borders, though the Grand Council believed that South Point was not a strategic area and did not worry about an attack. However, because of their oversight of South Point's location, the Jenkyns Empire invaded and had established a foothold in the nation, capturing over 20 villages and settlements which they used as staging points for additional Jenkyns troops. When the Grand Council received news of this invasion, they were shocked but nonetheless retaliated and sent General Mak along with an entire legion of 8000 troops to protect South Point's capital city from being captured, however because the state of Zarkan was located far from South Point, Mak and his forces were unable to make it to the capital in time and clashed with Jenkyns Empire troops on the city's outskirts.
During the battle, Mak ordered 3000 of his troops to retreat to the city in order to protect South Point's leaders and people, for if Mak were to be killed in battle. Due to the size of the Jenkyns Empire, Mak and the 5000 troops he fought alongside with had perished, and soon the Jenkyns Empire sieged the capital city, surrounding the city's walls with hundreds of troops. For three days straight, the gates of the capital city were able to hold until they had finally broken, allowing Jenkyns troops to attack. The 3000 troops defended the city until they were completely wiped out.
This victory by the Jenkyns Empire allowed the annexation of the nation and its membership into the Imperial Commonwealth. South Point's leaders were executed and politicians that allied with the Imperial Council were given immunity from its armies. The nation later became known as Imperial Point, abolishing its previous name and all imagery of its predecessor. Because South Point did not have their own military forces, there was no resistance or rebellion for the Imperial Council to have worried about, as all citizens were shown to be obedient of their rule.
Dissolution[]
The Grand Family had abolished the Zarkan Empire in 625 BBY in favour of the Zarkan Kingdom, due to fear of becoming like their rivals the Jenkyns Empire, which collapsed 129 years prior because of a large scale revolt from annexed nations within the Imperial Commonwealth. The Grand Council was dissolved, the Imperial Zarkan Army became the Zarkan Miltia and its special forces became the Zarkan Royal Guard.
