History[]
The Zalressians were the sentient descendants of a non-sentient mammalian species. They evolved on Zalress, a jungle planet located in the Zalress system within the Hewett sector of the Mid Rim. Their homeworld was explored between 3000 BBY to 1000 BBY during the Blazing of Hydian to Ruusan. It fell into the area of space known as the New Territories. They shared their home sector with the Frids, the Hewetts, and the Vectinians. It became a part of Republic Space during the Clone Wars.
It also became a part of Imperial Space between 7 ABY and 8 ABY during The Hunt for Zsinj. Their homeworld fell within the borders of the New Republic between the years 12 ABY and 13 ABY. In 25 ABY, their homeworld's population was up to 100 million, the same year the Yuuzhan Vong invaded their home galaxy. Their homeworld became a part of Darth Krayt's Sith Empire in 137 ABY.
