The Zacklans were a reptilian species that could fly. They lived on a world of jungles and high cliffs. They had a system of government based on democracy and were very loyal to their governing council. They had green scales and had the unique ability to turn invisible. Zacklans were known for their intelligence and were so mathematically adept that even the Givin respected them as equals or higher. They were rarely seen in the galaxy because of the peace in their own galaxy, but the few that had met them respected them greatly for their abilities and technological prowess.
Government[]
The Zacklan government was based on democracy with members of the species voting for council members over the age of 100. The council was composed of 39 members with three members from each of the council's thirteen worlds. The number of worlds under the council's rule had varied between as few as four and as many as thirty-six while maintaining the rule of three members per planet. The council controlled the major decisions concerning the species and when one as made all members followed. Those who refused to follow an order from the council were considered disrespectful and exiled. However, a few times when that member had been proven correct in his reasoning, he would have been given back his status and sometimes would have been offered a council position. This style of government had held them together for several hundred years following their enslavement to the Maldorians and did for many more.
Abilities[]
The Zacklans had an odd ability of giving off and manipulating an energy that they generated themselves. This energy could take the form of electricity, balls and fire. They used it in hand to hand combat to fight with it in ball form firing rounds of it at their opponents. This made them very formidable foes to their enemies and was the main reason for their few wars. Since they could use it as electricity when their ship’s ZEC ran out of power, they were able to charge the ZEC at the cost of energy; charging for too long could have resulted in fainting or in extreme cases, cause the being to go into a coma. They had a form of combat known as Reack, utilizing their tail blades, power generation and flight. They could also fly as mentioned above, but only did so when they needed to, (they preferred walking) such as in combat, delivering an urgent message or for recreation sports.
Power generation[]
The Zacklans believed that they were able to generate power because of their ancestors. They were very technologically advanced and could have engineered their DNA though the use of Talcite crystals. Most Zacklans were able to give this energy off in the form of light and energy fire. 20% of the population could only do that. The remaining 80% could give it off in balls of kinetic energy, each ball was capable of producing 30 PSI on their target. This made up 50% of the population. The remaining 30% could use all those forms and one more, shield generation, the most powerful being able to withstand several dozen turbolaser hits. They generated a field of energy around them, creating an orb of green. Once again, the radius of this sphere differed between ability and need; the largest sphere ever generated had a radius of thirty meters. Unfortunately, it could only be held for a few minutes and the Zacklan generating it collapsed into a coma. They gave off energy sometimes to recharge a ZEC, although this required days of constant energy. Zacklan soldiers used this in battle throwing round after round for cover.
Reack[]
Reack consisted of three styles Natan, energy wielding, Telnor, blade slashing, and Tahnu, flight movements. First they threw energy balls then they flew up and finally streaked down and slashed with their tail blades.
History[]
The Zacklans lived in tribes across the planet before they developed more civilized governments, eventually leading to the first world war on their planet. The winners were the Callis tribe who controlling the planet looked back on their actions and called a summit meeting of all three tribes. The tribes declared themselves one nation and selected three members from each tribe to rule on the council. This rule of three still runs today. They eventually developed their own version of a hyperdrive that could go much faster than anything built in the galaxy by humans at that time and began colonizing others worlds and giving technology freely.
They met their match when they encountered another reptilian race known as the Maldorians. The Maldorians were able to enslave them for several hundred years before their slaves managed to escape and free the rest of their kind. Sadly by then most had forgotten how to use and manufacture most of their technology. They were however able to advance themselves to their original status and have been advancing ever since.
They developed their first hyperdrive and found it very useful in getting goods to and from their already existing extrasolar colony. They had since been interested in finding a faster means of travel. The second generation of this was the stardrive which was a more sophisticated hyperdrive that was not affected by stellar mass which plagued normal hyperdive users, requiring precise calculations and positioning. The ability to go anywhere without this snag greatly increased their resources and territory.
The Zacklans had found other worlds with life but none so far had developed sentience. Then they found Maldoria the planet home to the Maldorians. They were very warlike and each member was part of the feudal system. The Zacklans hoped that by giving them the technology to expand would show them that peace was best. They took it as a means to conquer others. They plotted for long periods of time then at the exact same moment he Maldorians onboard the Zacklan ships set the self-destruct on each ship, crippling the Zacklan fleet. The Maldorians then conquered the whole race and used them as labor workers. They only had a low civil status and had very few rights then Emperor Suoalis Nashar declared Zacklans slaves worth no more than animals. A few escaped and started the resistance to liberate their kind.
Technology[]
The Zacklans were most known for maintaining strong armed forces after their long war and enslavement to the Maldorians. Their forces contain many starfighters and capital ships including the formidable Jump fighter that had extremely strong shields compared to other starfighters. This was because the Zacklan version of a hyperdrive was half the size of a normal one allowing for a larger, more powerful shield generator to be put onboard. They also had bombers that were capable of taking on smaller transport ships. The Zacklans also possessed healing technology more powerful than bacta. The most important technology they had though was their space station Home One which held more than 50,000 passengers living onboard in space. The station supported refuges and others in need.
ZEC[]
They power their technology with crystals called Zacklan.Energy.Crystal.s(Singular Zec) which was powered by absorbed energy from Zacklan personal energy or reactors. This energy was very strong and individual zecs could power the hyperdrive of small fighters for a while. The ZECs themselves did not generate the power but rather increased by the power of ten to the fifth. (Put in 1 Juole get 100,000 Juoles of energy). However some ZECs could power capital ships in conjunction with a small fusion reactor. TRhe power output of a ZEC could be identified by the color of the crystal. Red increases powered by ten to the fifth, Orange by ten to the sixth, Blue by ten to the seventh, and Gold by ten to the eighth. When in use, ZECs glowed.
Beaming technology[]
The Zacklan had a new technology that beamed beings to anywhere within the range of the beam or to a selected platform using another platform (The ray allowed for one person anywhere, but the platform was instant and allowed more than one being or item). When they felt the need, they would also place their most valuable piece of technology onboard a ship; the worm-hole generator, allowing any ship that could fit inside of the field it created to go several hundred light-years in a few seconds. The ship Freedom Fighter possessed this technology as long as the owner of the vessel did not try to duplicate it. Later on when the Zacklans came into conflict with Zzuf they would begin sending plans and ships to CC-19 of the other galaxy.
Military[]
The Zacklans had a large military due to their conflicts with the Maldorians and Regelians. They had an extensive ranking system so that for every level of accomplishment is rewarded. Their fleet was one of the largest and had several thousand ships. Though they only had thirty Emacipator-Class Warships after the Battle of Zacmar. Their soldiers were extremely talented and were deadly in hand to hand combat. A Wookiee onboard freedom fighter was able to last thirty seconds and Force users found themselves sweating against Zacklan cadets.
Culture[]
Most Zacklans lived simply growing crops for their world, but were in fact extremely advanced using the number three as the basis of their society. Their government was democratic and was led by a council which decided planet-affecting decisions. They had three members from each planet under the council's control join to prevent bribing all of the planets leaders. They had triangular shaped ships and fighters. They used three in their artwork so much that anything else was considered exotic.
They developed as a people in tribes fighting for resources and valuable metals. The metals were not used to pay workers like in other societies but to be used to create swords and shields. This was also the times where their energy powers began really advancing enough that they could use them as weapons. This led to a revolution taking place where warriors were trained specifically to use their powers, much like the Jedi, these warriors were very valuable and tribal leaders would use no more than five for one battle in case the battalion was ambushed or any other bad thing. Eventually the tribes formed together after an unknown environmental disaster possibly a worldwide flood.
As of 75 ABY, they wore clothes that allowed for them fly around but were comfortable. Colors used were usually red, blue, green, black, and white. Every year in the capital city there was a festival celebrating the unification of the Zacklan tribes.
