The Years of Peace, also known as the Thousand Years of Peace was a roughly 1,000-year long timespan in the history of Gargan's Empire which was identified as a period and golden age of increased as well as sustained Garganese imperialism, prosperous stability, hegemonial power and expansion, and economic prosperity. It traditionally began following the death of Gargan the Conqueror, who left behind a series of institutions, edicts and policies which ensured that his successors would find a framework on which to build and expand the Empire after a tumultuous foundation period. The period ended roughly around the Seventh Battle of Ruusan during the New Sith Wars after Gargan the Jailor was forced to secede many imperial territories, beginning the violent Hegemony Period.
During this period, the Empire achieved its greatest territorial extent and a population boom as a result of advanced technology and medical achievements. The Years of Peace saw the large-scale transformation of the Tyrrhan species from a culturally-stunted people to a highly sophisticated spacefaring civilization. The Years of Peace also saw the rise of the Kolkans, former Tyrrhan clans who evolved into political parties and feudal dynasties.
