Yang Jun was an admiral in the navy of the Galactic Republic, and later the Galactic Empire's navy. A cunning tactician, he fought with distinction during the Clone Wars and the subsequent campaigns. After the formation of the Alliance to Restore the Republic in 2 BBY, Jun fought against them in the Galactic Civil War. During that time, he made many allies among the officer corps of the Empire, including Captain Gilad Pellaeon. He retired after the deaths of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader at Endor, believing the Empire was a mere shadow of it's former self. During that time, Jun lived peacefully on Wakeelmui, his homeworld.
However, after the formation of the Imperial Remnant in 12 ABY, Jun was asked to rejoin the Navy with his old rank by Pellaeon, who was looking for more experienced officers. He accepted, wanting to stabilize what was left of the Empire. Pellaeon placed him in command of the Bastion Defense Fleet, satisfying the Moffs, who wanted a capable officer in charge of defending the capitol. Jun later fought during the Yuuzhan Vong War, scoring several victories against the extragalactic invaders. After the war ended, Jun permanently retired on his home planet and peacefully lived out the rest of his days.

Early life and career[]
Yang Jun was born on Wakeelmui, a forest planet in the Colonies. During his youth, Jun took an interest in military affairs. His father was the owner of a shipping company, and they were able to afford him going to the Corulag Officer Academy. Jun excelled there, and was recognized by his superiors to be a skilled tactician. After graduating at the top of his class, Jun briefly taught tactics to officer cadets at the Academy, before becoming an active duty member of the Republic Navy. He took part in several operations leading up to the Separatist Crisis, many of which were successful. In 32 BBY, he believed an attack was necessary on the Trade Federation fleet that was blockading Naboo, but the planet was soon liberated.
Clone Wars[]
As the Clone Wars broke out after the battle on Geonosis in 22 BBY, Jun was deployed as the admiral of the Republic Ninth Fleet. His forces took part in several battles under his command.
