Old Republic era

Yan Razam was a female Arcona Jedi Guardian during the New Sith Wars.

Biography[]

Jedi Ace[]

In 1,387 BBY, she was stationed aboard the praxeum ship Crescentia. She was vocally supportive of Mali Darakhan and Tirien Kal-Di's mission to Milagro that year, and critical of the Crescentia's praxeum council for restricting Tirien, Slejux Nissatak, and Tirien's apprentice Narasi Rican to the ship in the mission's aftermath.

When Mali Darakhan was preparing his assault on Milagro the following year, Razam and her fighter squadron flew ahead of him on the south Harrin Trade Corridor to clear out Vedya Gasald's gravity mines. Using ion cannons, Razam and her squadron took many of the gravity mines roughly intact and were able to present them to Essely Kalliot two months later.

As the Seventy-Second Republic Battle Group geared up for a climactic battle with Darshkére at Eriadu, Razam drilled her squadron to be ready. The battle, however, was a bloodbath; the Jedi had been lured into an ambush, as Darshkére had allied with Gasald, who brought her battle fleet down from Allanteen for the fight. Razam was shot down on Docharvee along with her wingmate, Kayce Ny-no-Kald (who died in orbit), and Driphan, who was injured in the crash and sacrificed himself to save her.

Revenge quest[]

Razam fled over thin-aired Docharvee for six days and nights, steadily growing weaker and wearier, until rescue came in the form of Tirien, Narasi, and the Second Chance. The Jedi fled to shelter on Pelagon, where Raven Kaivalt joined Tirien and Razam in planning an assassination mission against Gasald. Over the following weeks, as the Jedi strike team trained for the mission, Razam fought hard and pushed to such lengths that she quarreled with Raina Kaivalt, who thought her methodology bordered on the dark side.

The strike team arrived at Allanteen only to discover Gasald anticipated their arrival, but proceed to the Kiss of Death anyway. When battle erupted, Yan fought several Sith Acolytes and White Guards. When they were dead, she found Tirien overpowering Gasald; he cut off her sword hand as she reached for her lightsaber, and before she could react, Razam cut off her entire other arm.

At the brink of murder, though, Tirien was drawn back from the dark by Narasi. Incensed, Razam tried to kill Gasald instead, but Tirien stopped her and disarmed her after a brief duel. She fled from them, stealing a Sith fighter and shooting up the Kiss of Death's hangar bay before making her escape.

Crusader[]

Boarding the Crusader at Allanteen, Yan defected to Argus Z'dar's campaign. She agreed with his ruthless approach to Sith and other threats, and became a mainstay of his fighter force. She harbored a degree of disdain for the Crusaders imprisoned at Malachor Base, who reminded her of Tirien and whom she felt were similarly liable to choke at a critical moment. Z'dar had also captured Gasald, and Yan participated in her violent interrogations.

The following year, Yan continued to support Z'dar even when he began employing nuclear weapons that resulted in civilian casualties. She was present at Malachor for the Crusaders' capture of Darth Alecto, and Tirien and Narasi's subsequent mission to neutralize Z'dar. Intercepting Narasi in the base's brig, she dueled the Padawan, but Narasi overpowered and disarmed her. Knocked unconscious by Farwel Jodurk, Yan was taken into custody by the Crusaders and surrendered to three Jedi Shadows for transport back to Coruscant.

Powers and abilities[]

Yan was a starfighter ace with many combat kills. She was able to coordinate well with other pilots, though she most preferred to fly in a Jedi squadron, relishing the tight coordination that allowed. She was a capable swordsbeing, preferring Form V, though Narasi was able to overcome her with a Juyo Rock Viper Twist.

Appearance and personality[]

Yan had mahogany skin and bright green eyes. She was taller than Mali Darakhan, who was 1.83 meters tall. Yan carried a lightsaber with a blue blade.

As a Jedi, Yan enjoyed battle, and believed Jedi should be active in rooting out Sith threats. She was loyal to her teammates, though that loyalty led to her corruption, as the deaths of her entire squadron at Eriadu drove her on a revenge quest against Vedya Gasald, which in turn led her to join Argus Z'dar.
