Yafluin was a planet in the Zeemacht Cluster of the Inner Rim. A world terraformed by settlers of the Galactic Republic, it was the most heavily populated world in the Yafluinacht system. During the Galactic Civil War, it was conquered by the Galactic Empire to curb Rebel Alliance activities in the sector.

History[]

In 19,791 BBY, Republic scientists traveled with a group of settlers colonizing Yafluin, a dry, lifeless world with a carbon dioxide atmosphere. They began to create a breathable atmosphere and a sustainable agricultural environment. It was a warzone during many of the Republic's conflicts but developed an industrial economic base that recovered after each battle. In 1,040 BBY, during the Republic Dark Age, Yafluin left the Republic and did not rejoin until 735 BBY. Despite staying out the Clone Wars, the Confederacy of Independent Systems invaded Yafluin and the Grand Army of the Republic fought them on the planet. Staying out of the Empire was a more challenging task but they succeeded until 3 ABY, when Imperial forces took over the planet. Thousands of troops were stationed on the planet, including Munto Kyliff. When the Empire surrendered, Yafluin was one of the few Inner Rim worlds they were allowed to keep. But, in 11 ABY, the planet joined the New Republic and sent the remaining Imperial troops home.
