The Xaxax, also known as the World Builders, were an ancient and extinct species that inhabited the galaxy hundreds of thousands of years before the rise of the Galactic Republic. The Xaxax were one of the five founding species of the Dawnstar Pact.

According to the Kathol Soulkeeper Epizon, the Xaxax were relative isolationists, preferring to keep to themselves rather than intermingle with the rest of the galactic community. It was also stated that the Xaxax were remarkably technologically sophisticated, even by the standards of the Kathol and Celestials, and created many strange and powerful devices, which ultimately became scattered across the galaxy by unknown means and circumstances.

As credit to their moniker, what was considered to be the Xaxax's most astounding engineering feats were their ability to artificially create entire worlds. The Xaxax society was also known for being nigh-bedridden of all diseases and illnesses, and had created devices that allowed users to communicate instantaneously over vast distances. The Xaxax were believed to have built a vault in the form of a space station that housed much of their technology in order to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.

The Xaxax possessed unrivaled intellectual prowess relative to their contemporaries, and cybernetically altered themselves with nanotechnology, part of which enabled them to access and control technology through their brainwaves. The Xaxax eventually fell into extinction, either at some point prior to, or during, the rise of the Rakatan Infinite Empire.
