Wolroff (pronounced: wool-rof) was a moon in the Expansion Region of the galaxy, being one of the moons that orbit Yinchorr. Not only did it orbit that planet, but it also was the closest moon to it as well. Years after the Insectoid Wolroffians went extinct, the planet became an enclave for the reptilian species, the Yinchorri's.
History[]
In the days before the Republic, the original Wolroffians were everywhere and the planet had a booming population. The planet was doing very well compared to some other planets at the time. This was the case until a major hurricane hit the planet, destroyed a majority of the food sources and killed many. After the hurricane, the planet suffered a famine leading to the extinction of the Wolroffians.
In the year 10,000 BBY, a large Yinchorri tribe called the Chorrvan migrated to the planet after the Yinchorri Civil War. The Chorrvan people had claimed the planet for themselves and were the only ones who ruled over it for thousands of years until surrendering to the Galactic Republic after a war between the two in 32 BBY. The Yinchorri's of Wolroff are theorized to be the modern descendants of the people of the Chorrvan tribe.
During the Clone Wars, it was a Separatist-occupied planet from the year 24 BBY all the way up to the end of the war in 19 BBY. For some time, a small rebel base was on Wolroff until it was destroyed by the Galactic Empire in the Battle of Wolroff. After the base was destroyed, the rebels migrated to Echo Base on Hoth. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C3PO, and R2D2 were among some of the people who had lived on the rebel base on Wolroff.
