The Winter campaign, nicknamed by soldiers as the Winter War, was an operation during the Battle of Selsor in the Galactic Civil War. The battle was lasting several hundred days as winter on the planet set in. The Imperial Army was tired of fighting the Rebel insurgents and called in the Stormtrooper Corps to finish them off. An elite snowtrooper unit known as the Snow Hawks was deployed on the planet of Selsor to fight the Rebels. It was a successful operation, exterminating the majority of Rebel guerrillas and causing the remaining to surrender. The Galactic Empire took more than a thousand prisoners (most of whom died in captivity later on).
