Like the group's Juggernauts and AT-PTs, Wayland's Warhammer's AT-TEs were mainly used on planets where repulsorlift craft were impractical and/or unusable. Unlike the other craft, though, the AT-TEs served a vital role even when repulsorlifts could be utilized, serving as the Warhammer's primary artillery units. The walkers were redesigned, practically from the ground up, by outlaw mechanic Syd N'aanzi, providing dramatic improvements to their speed, armor, and weaponry, as well as the inclusion of a shield generator with a dedicated power supply and a HoloComm transceiver for instant communication with command elements. The most noticeable change was the replacement of the original walker's projectile cannon with a heavy turbolaser cannon turret. The most important feature of the cannon, besides its rapid recharge rate and advanced cooling systems, was its enclosed gunner's station, a vast improvement over the previously open control mount (from the gunner's point of view, especially). A concealed concussion missile launcher was also added to increase the vehicle's offensive punch and provide a very unwelcome surprise for enemy forces.
