Wayland's Warhammer primarily used AT-PT scout walkers on planets where repulsorlift craft were unavailable for some reason. While its role was normally filled by faster swoops and landspeeders, the AT-PT still served as an important scout and infantry support vehicle, and the modifications made at the direction of Syd N'aanzi, the group's chief technician, had kept the outdated walker up to the standards of a modern combat vehicle. Besides the craft's improved speed, its armor, communications, and weapons had also been modified. Its survivability was enhanced with heavy durasteel alloy plating and a miniaturized shield generator with its own power source. A HoloComm transceiver provided clear communications with other units, and its blaster cannons had been replaced with more powerful pulse laser cannons. To complete the modifications, the walker's concussion grenade launcher was replaced with a concussion rocket launcher, firing laser-guided rockets directed by a targeting laser mounted co-axially with the AT-PTs twin laser cannons.
