The Warhounds were a galactically infamous faction of mercenaries operating in the galaxy at large during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Considered an elite fighting force, even during the thriving times for many mercenaries, the Warhounds had allied themselves with the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire, achieving a great deal of their initial fame in the campaigns of the Kwymar sector.

At some point following the death of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, the ties between the Warhounds and the Rebellion loosened, and the Warhounds eventually relocated from the Outer Rim territories to Wild Space, participating in independent wars per the highest bidders.

By the time of the Trandoshan Rebellions and the Hundred-Day War, the Warhounds were still a thriving organization that had almost entirely migrated to the many conflicts within the Unknown Regions.

Jaek Ryvkus, a former Vigo of the Black Sun, was leader of the Warhounds until some point prior to the Hundred-Day War.Between his passing and the outbreak of the Extant War, Boudika Veris had taken control of the Warhounds, and began returning them to the greater galactic community to participate in the fight against the Charon Dominion.
