The War of the Providence subsector was a war lasting eleven years between 7 and 18 ABY. It took place in the area of the Sumitra sector around the planets Providence, Lombarda, Selutha and Mygeeto, as well as many other planets in that area.
The war began when the Droid Confederacy's population of both droids and organics grew too large for them to stay limited to the small area around their base planet of Providence. Many scouts were dispatched to nearby planets to search for suitable places to build colonies. The small planet of Sor was colonized, but the confederacy wanted another so they could safely continue growing without overcrowding. The search led them extremely close to their long-standing enemies, the GTA, who feared an invasion plot against them, and dispatched a small army to claim the DC's new bases, as well as a few other planets. This sparked a brief conflict that escalated into full scale war after a few months.
Meanwhile, on the nearby planet of Selutha, Jerjerrod's imperial remnant, the Fleet of the Empire, had reached an army size big enough to pose a serious threat to other small factions, and Jerjerrod decided to use this to conquer once and for all the small planet of Lombarda which had repeatedly repelled the Empire a few years earlier. This was highly successful as many Lombardan army units had dispatched to the conflict between the DC and GTA to try to maintain peace. They returned quickly after they learned that the Fleet of the Empire had blockaded their homeland.
Lombarda was conquered briefly by the imperial remnant, but Ggerrilla warfare began and the Lombardans reclaimed their planet. This was two years into the war, and before long, the two sets of enemies collided, instigating a huge four-way war with no alliances or truces and danger facing every side from all directions.

Expansionism[]
The first inkling of this war was the issue of overcrowding on Providence, Lucrehulk and the many small asteroids also controlled by the Droid Confederacy. Scientists of the Gabat batch had calculated that Providence itself could safely hold around 2 billion organics and around three billion droids. Its population at the time was almost double these recommendations. Almost every DC asteroid had a governor concerned for his citizen population limits, and on Lucrehulk homes had been constructed in the wild and dangerous wetlands due to lack of space. The president of the confederacy, Unit A-10, decided that more space was needed urgently for the confederacy to become a safer place to live, and several small flotillas of ships went to search the area for inhabitable planets. Soon it was discovered that Sor, a planet in the neighboring Sor system was inhabitable, though before this it was thought that all the planets in the system were toxic to most organics.
Revenge[]
Jerjerrod was the Imperial Moff who had briefly been in charge of the Death Star II before its destruction at the hands of the rebels. He had escaped and fled with a select few loyal personnel to the huge, barren planet of Selutha. A small city had been built on the planet's equator—it's only habitable area—with numerous space stations hovering above to house many militaristic and scientific areas. Orson was the prime minister of Lombarda, a medium sized lush planet with a constitutional monarchy. His uncle had been the prime minister during much of the Empire's time, when the planet had dealt a severe blow to the empire and remained independent. He was concerned about the nearby conflict so dispatched his army to attempt to bring peace. This opportunity was just too good to miss for Jerjerrod, who immediately attacked the unguarded planet.
