«Tach are mischievous around people. Keep an eye on your belongings; he's liable to "borrow" anything he can carry.» ―Batauww's warning about Vrym.

Vrym was a male tach who lived in the Shadowlands of Kashyyyk in 28 ATC. During their descent into the Shadowlands from the Wookiee village of Rwookrrorro, Vrym encountered Isla Ahnkett and Zhavi Waverunner.

Taking an inexplicable interest in the Force users, Vrym approached the pair on the lift down and followed them during their journey through the gloomy forest underworld, even accompanying them as they fought against Trandoshan poachers. When they made to leave the planet, Vrym followed, boarding their ship until Isla removed him.

Despite Isla being an attentive former spy and assassin, Vrym managed to sneak back on board without being noticed after the Chiss ejected him, revealing himself once they had jumped out of the system, at which point Zhavi convinced Isla that they should just keep him, naming him Vrym – after one of the many unintelligible noises he made – in the process.

Although Vrym trusted and liked both women, he gravitated towards Isla slightly more than Zhavi, attention she initially discouraged and resented. In time, however, Vrym became Isla's constant companion and the pair were rarely separate. Zhavi and Isla eventually became a couple and married, and Vrym became very much part of the family, doting on the couple's three children, Acina, Atem and Meetra Waverunner.

In 66 ATC, Vrym passed away of old age at the Waverunner family home on Shimka's Well.
