Vrix was a baby nexu that Margo Holland rescued from a small zoo on Coruscant (LadyVader). Upon finding out Vrix had been neglected, starved and abused, an infuriated Holland took him in herself. For a long time, he was the unofficial mascot of the Nexu's Nemesis. He never saw the crew as enemies, they were all just odd-looking fellow nexu.
Firmus Piett always showed a kind respect for Vrix, never treating him as a pet, but as a fellow nexu would another.
He and Vrix did something that terrified the rest of the crew when they saw it: Vrix pounced Firmus and knocked him over on his back; the human leaned his head back, baring his throat to the nexu, and Vrix reached to take his neck between his fangs, so gentle that the fangs didn't even break the skin.
Namillus Jakin fainted and had to be carried off the bridge. Dystrian came close herself, her legs wobbled under her and gave out. Hollland pulled a blaster and was aiming at the back of Vrix's head when Firmus yelled for her to stop, that he wasn't being hurt. He told everyone to look at the nexu's paws.
