The Vorylian Sovereign was the official currency used on the neutral world of Voryle and was divided into three types of coins; the sovereign, shilling and penny. Four shillings and one-hundred pennies were the equivalent of one sovereign, which was an uncommon coin outside of high society. A romanticized depiction of the serving head of government featured on the obverse side, while the reverse depicted an artistic representation of the factory chimneys that could be seen across Voryle's skyline. The latter design had remained unchanged since its inception, while the obverse was updated with the swearing in of each new ruler.

Sovereigns were gold in color and always had the head of government facing to the left, while shillings and pennies were silver and bronze respectively and always had the head of government facing to the right. During the Third Galactic War, Prime Minister Namos D'callo was featured on the coins. D'callo's daughter – the first queen of Voryle Samantha D'callo – was likewise immortalized on the planet's coinage, although her likeness continued to be used long after her abdication thanks to her popularity with the Vorylian working class and her overhaul of the planet's corrupt government.

The actual metals used in the creation of the coins were known only to the senior officials in the Voryle Mint and the information was legally recognized as a state secret. Most of the population of Voryle commonly used shillings and pennies in their daily lives, with many never having even seen a sovereign.
