Vor Skar, also known as Scar, was a Gand Jedi Padawan during the New Jedi Order.

Early life[]
Aran Gunnar: “Alright Kam, we've found the parts you need to repair the ship. Oh, and uh, we've found this Force Sensitive kid.”
Kam Zanabi: “Sigh. Why do I feel that you've picked up another insignificant life form?”
Aran Gunnar: “Hey that malfunctioning Arthree unit was an honest mistake!”

Vor was born on the Gand homeworld, also named Gand. He was discovered to be Force Sensitive when he was six by Aran Gunnar and his wife Arikki T'Cha when they were force to crash land on Gand. They asked Vor's parents if they could take the boy with the to the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV. They agreed, and they managed to reach Yavn IV uneventfully.

Vor Skarr: “Uh, Master? Do you really think that now is an appropriate time to "express" your feelings for your wife?”
Azara Vlanc: “Yes, sickening isn't it? They spend more time showing their affection for each other than they do on their assignments. Luckily for you, you'll never have to experience those kinds of distractions.”
Vor Skarr: “...Oh I see, it's a joke, right? Right?”

Vor then began training at the Jedi Praxeum, under the tutelage of Luke Skywalker. While there, he displayed excellent tracking skills, being able to sense the locations of objects and people through the movement of gasses. Skywalker recognized this as the signs of a Gand Findsman. After Vor's training was complete, Aran Gunnar chose him as his Padawan. He considered Arikki's Padawan, Azara Vlanc, a friend, although she was highly critical of him, and was often rude to him and others.
