Old Republic era

Vol Aldauk was a male Human Jedi Knight and Jedi Guardian. He chose to specialize in martial arts, and had studied to proficiency or mastery in multiple different styles. He was particularly adept at Bakuuni Hand, and his Force-backed blows and ability to shatter brick and stone with them earned him the nickname "Stonebreaker" (though the bruises he left on his sparring partners also saw him saddled with the sobriquet "Bonebreaker").

Vol and Gatiin on Kamparas

Vol training Gatiin on Kamparas

By 1,402 BBY, Vol was the Jedi martial arts instructor at the Kamparas Jedi Training Center. He had also taken Gatiin Muir as his Padawan; Muir would later become so proficient a martial artist that she was selected as instructor aboard the Jedi praxeum ship Crescentia.

By early 1,384 BBY, Vol had joined Argus Z'dar's crusade, where he fought at his old friend's direction but also served as a foil for Z'dar's increasing militance. He reluctantly supported Z'dar's use of nuclear weapons at Galidraan and Deep Storage Facility 214-Peth. When Tirien Kal-Di and Narasi Rican infiltrated Malachor Base, Vol disabled Tirien with a nerve strike, but when Tirien revealed Z'dar had also destroyed Bogg 14 and its entire civilian population, Vol turned on Manaela Wepwoigho, allowing Tirien and Narasi to continue their mission and even giving them directions. He refused to fight Z'dar himself, but nonlethally disabled every soldier in the base's hangar bay, which allowed Narasi and the liberated "True Crusaders" to reach the Second Chance and so recapture the Crusader.
