Vitrahi was a primarily chaparral planet located in the galaxy's Deep Core. It was characterized by hardy, drought-resistant evergreen shrubs, grass, and similar plants, as well as occasional large rock formations and mountains. It had long, hot summers and wet, mild winters. Fierce and sudden wildfires occurred sporadically, making permanent residencies difficult to maintain. The only major sources of water were two oceans located at either of the planet's poles.
Though Vitrahi's native inhabitants were non-sentient, several species had made the planet their home at one time or another. Predominant among them where the Cathar, who developed several new subspecies, as well as the Jenet. A community of Neti were also known to reside there, and at periods various smugglers (including humans and Twi'leks), would use Vitrahi as a stop-off point or staging area. During the Galactic Interregnum, what little government there was on the planet consisted of various landlords who owned the largest amounts of land, while all other residents either worked as independent outlaws and raiders, or served as tenants. The various ranches and estates did not communicate with each other, and indeed occasionally competed.
After the Fauthian devastation, the world became even more isolated, though it would become retroactively prominent in galactic affairs, due to being the homeworld of Calen Solayr, the Son of Suns, until his early adulthood.

Behind the Scenes[]
Vitrahi's name is derived from the figure of Vritra (also known as Ahi) in Hindu mythology, a famous demon responsible for great droughts. Its climate was inspired by the author's own childhood, growing up in central and costal California and Arizona, while its government is loosely inspired by the government and culture of many post-revolution South American nations. The prominence of the Cathar is, in part, in tribute to The Godform Assumption of StarCrow the Wise.
