Via Lactea, known by it's inhabitants as the Milky Way and the Milky Way Galaxy, was a spiral galaxy, possibly a Barred Spiral Galaxy, and one of the billions of galaxies in the Universe and a neighboring galaxy of the Star Wars Galaxy.
It was largely unexplored, and the only known expedition ever aimed at exploring the galaxy was in early 22 BBY by the Extragalactic Society, or Exgal, an organization devoted to finding extragalactic life. The mission was funded by Brodo Asogi Senator Grebleips, and in turn, was manned by mostly Whills, with ten Humans and three Duros along with them. The expedition first landed on planets uninhabited, then landed in the Sol System on Earth. After studying the planets for 3 days, they were forced to leave the planet after goverment officials chased them. However, they left a member of their group behind, Enta Tenapeloy, nicknamed E.T., although he later made his way back to the known galaxy. The planet was considered as the homeworld of the Human species, although the debate was still going on by 300 ABY. Another member of the crew, a human, was stranded on the planet, but managed to blend in with the local population and settled at the town of Chicago, in a government called the United States of America.
Since 21 BBY, Via Lactea had been continually studied and explored by probes and sattelite, although the 22 BBY mission remained the only manned mission to the Galaxy by 35 ABY.
Behind the Scenes[]
The galaxy Via Lactea is intended to be the same galaxy as the Milky Way Galaxy, and is intended to link up Star Wars and E.T. The name Via Lactea is a reference to the Latin translation of Milky Way.
