This place is open to any who wish to learn, or to heal, or to find a place in the galaxy. We turn none away here. All are welcome.
Jedi Master Marrik Quee, headmaster of the enclave

The Vaspau Jedi Enclave was a Jedi academy located on the Deep Core planet Vaspau. Emulating the academies of old, the Vaspau enclave was a place of study and knowledge, open to any and all - Force-sensitive or not - who wished to learn about the Force and the history of the Jedi and other Force sects. The temple was a place of learning, instruction, reflection, and discoveries on the nature of the Force. Here, Jedi were able to train and study in peace.

History[]

Founding and construction[]

Following the devastation of the Yuuzhan Vong War, Jedi Master Marrik Quee contacted the smuggler Breino Vorn and his crew for assistance locating a suitable planet for building a Jedi enclave.

Layout[]

Exterior[]

Vaspau Jedi Temple 2

Meditation grounds located near a waterfall.

The enclave was nestled deep in the wooded Dostra Mountains. The enclave was a departure from the monolithic temples of the past, instead possessing of a much more humble and understated appearance. Intended to be an academy and a retreat, the enclave drew upon the planet's unmolested wilderness and was designed to have as little impact on the native environment as possible.

Training grounds spread out into the surrounding forested and mountainous landscape. The grounds featured stone statues of ancient Jedi and other monuments. The temple grounds were also vertical, with steps leading to training and meditation grottoes in the mountains.

A path leading down the mountains lead to the settlement of Pilgrim's Rest.

Interior[]

Vaspau Jedi Temple 3

The enclave hosted lectures on a variety of subjects.

The interior of the enclave was warm, inviting, and serene. Sound dampers kept noise from practice or training to a minimum.

At the very center of the enclave was a chamber that emulated the Room of a Thousand Fountains, albeit on a more humble scale. This chamber was a veritable garden, filled with flora from across the galaxy, and was outfitted with seats to facilitate its usage as the enclave's meeting chamber. This chamber was also used by the local council as council chambers, but they also had more private council chambers for deliberations of especially important or sensitive nature.

Behind the scenes[]

The Vaspau Enclave drew inspiration from a number of sources, including the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic fame. The enclave also draws inspiration from the Jedi Academy on Ossus, the Great Jedi Library of Ossus, and the Great Temple on Yavin 4. The central meeting and council chamber was inspired by the inner sanctum of the Light Jedi Enclave, which appeared in Star Wars Galaxies.
