The Vanarians were a lemuroid race native to the Outer Rim planet of Vanaria. They bore a strong resemblance to the Kluuzots of Krann.
Biology and appearance[]
The Vanarians were 1.3-meter-tall lemuroids with brown fur and amber eyes. They had four fingers on each hand and three toes on each foot.
Society and culture[]
Vanarians could work for any affiliation and occupation, and could speak in a language which consists of lemur-like chirps and shrieks. They could speak Basic. They also shared their name with the Vanarian tree eater, a type of non-sentient creature from their homeworld. They were one of the 5 million sentient species (alien races) known to the Empire in the galaxy.
History[]
The Vanarians were the sentient descendants of a non-sentient primate species. They evolved on Vanaria, a jungle planet located in the Vanaria system within the Rseik sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Their homeworld was explored sometime between 1000 BBY and 25 BBY, during the widespread settlement and opening of the Deep Core. They shared their home sector with the Chortose, the Iakaru, the Icarii, the Nalrithians, the Rindoonians, the Rseikharhls, the Sloogarians, and the Vestaari. In 25 ABY, their homeworld's population was up to 1 million. Their homeworld became a part of the Darth Krayt's Sith Empire in 137 ABY.
