Van-Sar-Nodan was a Cerean male Jedi Master who was one of the founders of the New Jedi Order.

Biography[]

Taken from his homeworld of Cerea at an early age, Van-Sar-Nodan was trained as a Jedi Initiate at the academy on H'ratth. On the day Order 66 was given, Nodan — having been bullied by one of his fellow initiates — had ran and hid in the forests near the academy. When he returned after having calmed down, he found the academy in ruins and all of his friends and masters dead. With no means of getting off-planet, Nodan decided to return to the forest and live his life there, feeding off of the wildlife and living the life of a hermit.[1]

In his quest to restore the Jedi Order, Luke Skywalker visited H'ratth to explore the ruins of the Jedi Academy there. During his visit, he encountered Van-Sar-Nodan, who at first mistook him for an Imperial Inquisitor. After fending him off, Skywalker convinced Nodan that he was an ally and told him of his quest. Upon learning of his tale, Skywalker asked Nodan to join his new order, which the Cerean agreed to, on one condition: that Skywalker prove himself as a Jedi by finishing Nodan's own training.[1]

In 10 ABY, Nodan became one of the founding members of the New Jedi Order, serving on the reestablished Jedi Council at the Praxeum on Yavin 4. Among his students at the Praxeum included Nira Maren and Jomesh, the former who would later join him on the Jedi Council.[1]

At some point, Nodan returned to Cerea to reconnect with his family and met his cousin Ver-Su-Tus.[1]

Nodan was still a member of the Jedi Council when the Glorian War broke out in 35 ABY.[2] During the war, he was stationed in the Raxus system.[3]
