Rise of the Empire eraRebellion era

The Valiant-class Star Destroyer, often called the Valiant-class Cruiser, was a Star Destroyer manufactured by Cybe Drives primarily for the Galactic Republic. Together with the Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Valiant served as the backbone of the Republic Navy.

Surviving vessels of the Clone Wars entered service with the Galactic Empire, performing primarily as carrier.

Characteristics[]

Dimensions[]

Valiant-class

Back and front of a Valiant.

The 1,648 Meters-long Valiant was heavily armed in comparison to most Republic vessels, surpassing the Venator-class Star Destroyer in weaponry and size. The ship was loosely based on the Venator-classes and the Victory-class Star Destroyer. Uniquely, the ship had a hanger bay right at the front of the ship, this was never done before but proved rather succesful in many situations.

The Valiant's bridge was located at the back just like with the Venator and Victory vessels, this allowed for many strategic decisions to be made easier, as well for safety.

The ship has upgraded shielding to withstand many blasts from other vessels.

History[]

Republic service[]

The Galactic Republic used this vessel highly in conjunction with Venator-class Star Destroyers and Acclamator-class Assault Ships. Many of these ships were used as flagships by Republic captains and admirals, due to their capability as warships.

Imperial Service[]

The Valiant-class Star Destroyer was used after the Clone Wars by the Galactic Empire in the first few battles of the Galactic Civil War against disorganized, planetary rebellions, as well used for heavy patrol duty for important planets, including Coruscant, Byss and Foron.
