I'm a stormtrooper, but I'm not an Imperial.
—Vahn
Vahn, also known by his operating number TK-1121 and later his mercenary codename White Knight, was a male human freelance stormtrooper.
History[]
Early history[]
Born in 20 BBY, Vahn was born aboard a freighter to a family of smugglers and scavengers. His father imprisoned throughout his youth, Vahn's mother often smuggled supplies to Separatist holdouts across the galaxy and frequently got into violent encounters with the Imperial Navy, in which a young Vahn spent significant amounts of time behind the controls of their freighter's laser turret.
Galactic Civil War[]
At the height of the Galactic Civil War, Vahn sought to avoid an inevitable demise if he kept running from the Galactic Empire, and enlisted in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps in 1 BBY. Eventually attaining the position of stormtrooper commander, Vahn saw action in numerous historic battles against the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic including those at Yavin, Tatooine, Hoth, Sullust, Endor, and Naboo.
Vahn was captured by Rebel forces at Naboo, though managed to escape and fled to Kashyyyk where he helped fight against the New Republic's liberation of the planet. He once more fled after the defense at Kashyyyk failed and eventually ended up on Jakku, where he participated in the pivotal battle that saw the end of the Galactic Civil War.
New Republic Era[]
After the end of the war with the Galactic Concordance, Vahn refused to turn in his equipment and surrender to the New Republic in accordance with the treaty. Although he still renounced his loyalty to the Imperial regime, Vahn retained his identity as a stormtrooper, believing the title was more than just Imperial service. Instead of serving Imperial remnants as other remaining stormtroopers had done, he instead decided to work as an independent mercenary. Refitting his stormtrooper armor with many new gadgets and upgrades, he took up work for planetary governments and crime syndicates across the galaxy, becoming known as the "White Knight" in the public media. He lived up to his name as an "anti-Imperial stormtrooper", as many of his contracts saw him fighting pirates and other Imperial soldiers.
Later activities[]
Well over a decade into Vahn's successful mercenary career, he decided to retire from a life of warfare and settled in Cloud City on Bespin, where he worked as an officer of the Bespin Wing Guard for several years until he was eventually hired to work as a droid technician and security guard aboard a bulk freighter captained by Mubo. During a routine cargo run aboard Mubo's ship in 34 ABY, Vahn found himself stranded on Batuu after an attack by the Guavian Death Gang; in his mission to find a means of escaping Batuu, he rescued the famous droids C-3PO and R2-D2 and managed to slay the Guavian underboss Tara Rashin after fighting through hordes of Guavian enforcers.
After this event, he once more donned his old stormtrooper armor and went to work as a mercenary for the Resistance, participating in many covert missions against the First Order. He later flew a stolen freighter in the Battle of Exegol as part of the citizens' fleet before finally retiring on the Wheel for good. While living aboard the massive space station, Vahn became a mentor to many aspiring mercenaries.
Equipment[]
Vahn wore a standard set of white stormtrooper armor and wielded an E-11 blaster rifle. Later during his mercenary career, Vahn upgraded his armor with various gadgets such as a personal energy shield, retractable wrist vibroblade, and a signal jammer, putting the durability and versatility of the armor on par with Mandalorian armor. While living on Bespin, he wore the Wing Guard's signature gold-trimmed blue uniform and wielded a standard-issue Relby K-23 blaster pistol.
