...is this thing on?
Yes?
GREAT! Because I’m here with some news about the next release of The Chosen One for you! I’m hard at work on the next chapter, Chapter 8, of the novel. Currently, I’m about eight pages through what I’m assuming is going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of fifteen. Unlike every previous chapter, there is no amount of action WHATSOEVER. This novel is entirely character driven and it’s meant to further the two main plots: 1) the story of Annikin Skywalker; 2) the Invasion of Utapau and the eventual Clone Wars. It’s dialogue heavy, but I hope you’ll all find it to be the proverbial “good stuff” that I like to throw at certain people.
So to begin with, you’ll learn a bit more about Cliegg Lars, and you’ll also see some more focus on Owen Lars, Queen Arcadia and Jar Binks. Owen and Binks have a tense encounter, and you’ll also find one of my favorite little subplots, one between Arcadia and an Utapau guard named Logan Amator. We’ll shift focus over to the crashed starship where you’ll learn some more about Annikin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, and finally you’ll also get to see what’s been happening on Utapau. Namely, certain citizens and government officials are beginning a rebellion against the Trade Federation, and they’ve decided to hold one of their first meetings.
After this, we’ll move onto Chapter 9, where you’re going to be introduced to Sarus, the leader of the band of hermits you met in Chapter 6 and a character who appeared in the previous draft of the novel. Sarus will begin to clue Annikin into his destiny, but Annikin of course isn’t going to believe a word he says...that is, of course, until Cliegg starts to confirm some of what Sarus is saying. Chapter 9 will set the stage for the rest of the Tatooine arc, and once that’s completed we’re going to shift focus away from Tatooine for a chapter or two and pick up with Macy Windy and his trek to find the cloners on Kamino.
Chapters 8 and 9 are going to be released together. I hope to have them out by this Saturday, April 18th. Chapter 8 is probably going to be finished by tomorrow, so it depends on what my schedule and what Solus’s schedule is for the rest of the week. If anything changes, I’ll let you know in the comments section below. As always, thanks for reading!
