The legendary friendship destined to be forsaken begins.
As I said here, I wanted to release chapters eight and nine together since they're the last two before switching focus over to the Mace Windy and Kamino subplot, but I don't think I'm going to be able to finish the ninth chapter until next week. Therefore, I'm releasing Chapter Eight now. Without further adieu....
In this chapter, you learn more about Annikin Skywalker, Queen Arcadia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and you're also introduced to an Utapau guard named Logan Amator who, despite not appearing in the first draft, will be a main supporting character in this novel and the follow-up novella, Star Wars: Genesis. I'm pleased with the way this turned out. Once again I'd like to thank Solus for her edits, and Kurt M. Fox for helping me set the atmosphere of the scene during the Invasion of Utapau part of the chapter. I was having writers block that day and he helped me out there.
Along with the chapter, be sure to check out this photo manipulation by Solus for the character Cliegg Lars. While the character was originally played by Jack Thompson in canon, I decided to go with John Schneider for my version due to the fatherly qualities I feel he brings to the character.
