How the Star Wars Fanon Wiki Sparked a Fifteen Year Career
This past Friday was my last day working at Fandom, where I've worked since 2010, most recently as VP of Community for the wiki platform. As I say farewell to my time as Fandom Staff, I started thinking back to my time here on Star Wars Fanon as a contributor and an admin and how it led me directly to a fifteen year career.

SWFanon is beta testing the VisualEditor feature
Hello! Today I'm happy to let you know that Star Wars Fanon is helping out with beta testing the VisualEditor feature. This new editor was developed in partnership with the Wikimedia Foundation, and Wikia has been working on its implementation for some time. We're one of the first communities to be trying out this new feature, so we can provide crucial feedback to the Wikia Product Team to make sure the VisualEditor is the best it can be. Note that it is not available in Monobook.

Fluid Layout Arrives on Star Wars Fanon
Hi everyone. Star Wars Fanon is taking part in the early testing of Project Darwin, the next evolution of Wikia's look and feel. The biggest change that you'll see here—unless you use the Monobook skin—is that we now have a fluid layout. This means that the content area will grow and shrink depending on the size of your screen.
As this is part of a beta release, Wikia is very interested in feedback from us about fluid layout. This is a great chance for Star Wars Fanon to help out, to show how fluid layout is working on a fanon/fan fiction wikia like ours.
