The Unseen Queen was a Killik warship constructed by the Imperium to be its flagship.
During the Second Swarm War, Eskol Kaartinen, the Joined leader of the Imperium, authorized Killik assaults on systems outside the Utegetu Nebula, capturing resources and production facilities. He put less battle-oriented Killiks to work building ships, and they were able to follow schematics in swarms to put together vessels. The Unseen Queen was planned as the largest of them all, and Kaartinen intended to use it to lead the Imperium in conquest of the known galaxy on behalf of the (unwitting) Golden Empire. He gave the flagship its name as an homage to Rin Sakaros, Sovereign of the Golden Empire, whom most of his Killiks had never seen in person.
When Te`net Organi opposed Kaartinen's plan, the two fought a duel aboard the ship, which ended with Kaartinen amputating both the Qua's hands. Te`net was imprisoned aboard the Unseen Queen until it was completed. Having regenerated his severed hands, he escaped and fought a second duel against both Kaartinen and Chindal, badly damaging the bridge before crippling Chindal and killing Kaartinen. Te`net changed the friend-or-foe displays for the rest of the fleet, turning them on one another, and sabotaged the Unseen Queen's reactor before escaping with Chindal and Kaartinen's body. The resulting explosion destroyed the ship.
