Unit P-90912 was a unit attached to the Republic Penal Corps, a military branch comprising prisoners drafted into active military service, during the Clone Wars. Although penal units were rarely directly oversaw by Jedi (but instead officers of the Judicial Forces), P-90912 was placed under the command of Jedi General Rahm Kota, who opted not to lead the more common clone troopers. Under the command of Kota and alongside an attached clone trooper battalion commanded by ARC trooper "Aurek", P-90912 saw combat on both Metalorn and then Humbarine before the unit was disbanded and its surviving members were relocated to other penal units. Many former members of P-90912 later rejoined under Kota's command during the Imperial era to oppose the Galactic Empire as part of the former Jedi General's militia. The unit was more unorthodox than other penal units, with their troopers wearing distinct uniforms that would later inspire those worn by most soldiers of the Rebel Alliance; some members of the unit even wore their own armor, such as Naastau who wore modified Mandalorian armor.
One notable member of Unit P-90912 was Naastau, who fought in both deployments before being redeployed to Kamino as a drill instructor.
