The Unified Defense Force (UDF) was the primary military, exploratory, and scientific arm of the United Nations, Unified Earth Governments and the Outer Republic during there respective eras.
Military departments[]
Pre 2042 reorganization[]
In its early years, the UDF primarily oversaw the combined military forces of UN member states. Only the Void Command and the Expeditionary Corps were under its full command, whether in war or peace. The Auxiliary Corps, composed of national militaries, served only as a framework for UN member states to cooperate during wartime.
Post 2042 reorganization[]
In the year 2042 (30 BBY), with the formation of the Unified Earth Government, the UDF reorganized its three branches into four branches: the Void Command became the Navy and the Air Corps, the Expeditionary Corps became the Marine Corps, and the Auxiliary Corps became the Army. This reorganization allowed for greater specialization and efficiency within the UDF, enabling it to better address the diverse challenges faced by the Talmanach growing interstellar nation.

Numbered fleets[]
The First fleet consisted of several battle fleets, starting with Battle Fleet Alpha, which was comprised of Task Force Alpha One and Task Force Alpha Two. Each task force included one capital ship division with two capital ships and one escort flotilla. Additionally, Battle Fleet Alpha had a Scout Squadron. Similarly, Battle Fleet Bravo included Task Force Bravo One and Task Force Bravo Two, each containing one capital ship division with two capital ships and one escort flotilla, along with a Scout Squadron. Supporting these battle fleets was the Fleet Logistical Arm, ensuring operational efficiency and sustainability.
Defense fleets[]
The Sol/home fleet was structured into two primary divisions: the inner defense fleet and the outer defense fleet. The inner defense fleet comprised the Earth defense force, the Martian defense force, and the inner patrol squadron. The outer defense fleet included the Jovian defense force, the Saturnian defense force (also known as the Saturnia Rams), the Uranian defense force, the Neptunian defense force, and the outer patrol squadron.

Pluto's Lighthouse was a naval station on the world of Pluto. Established during the early years of interplanetary exploration, it served as a strategic outpost for deep space operations and as a critical waypoint for ships entering and exiting the Sol system. The base's unit patch featured the Disney character Pluto holding a torch out to the stars, symbolizing guidance and hope, while standing on the world of Pluto. Over the decades, the station evolved to include research facilities, refueling docks, and a thriving community of scientists, engineers, and military staff. It played a pivotal role during several conflicts, offering a strategic vantage point and acting as a staging ground for fleet maneuvers. Despite the harsh environment of Pluto, the station remained operational and vital to the security and exploration efforts of humanity in the outer reaches of the solar system.
