Uduru Tierekk was a Whiphid Jedi Master during the Post-Manderon period, best known for having taught the renowned Jedi reformer Atris.
In the years prior to the Great Sith War, Tierekk raised both Atris and a Mikkian named Raytha Gallasine as his Padawans. As well as the Jedi Order, he was a member of the esoteric cult of Ouiazervuth; after being initiated as a priest, he was obliged to periodically visit the cult's Tabernacle on Solarine to observe religious rites. Although this was viewed with puzzlement by some other Jedi—particularly his own Padawan, Atris—Tierekk's affiliation with the cult was approved by the High Council on Ossus, and it was not considered an impediment to his service as a Jedi.
In 21,058, Tierekk departed Ossus for another visit to Solarine. Atris chose to accompany him, but Raytha Gallasine remained behind to meet with Exar Kun, a visiting explorer offering to teach lost secrets to his fellow Jedi. In reality Kun was an aspiring Dark Lord of the Sith, seeking disciples from among the Order's more suggestible members. Unknown to Tierekk or Atris, Raytha fell under Kun's sway and joined the Brotherhood of the Sith. Soon after, she was tasked with killing her former master as part of the Jedi pogrom.
Raytha caught up with Tierekk weeks later on Solarine in the Tabernacle of Trass'thodus. Since weapons were strictly prohibited inside the compound, she attacked him there during a ceremony while he was unarmed. Among other wounds, Master Tierekk lost several fingers and part of his face to Raytha's lightsaber; the same blow would have killed him, except that Atris—having smuggled her own lightsaber into the compound—partially deflected it in time. Debilitated by his injuries, Tierekk used the Force to enter a healing trance while his two Padawans dueled. Ultimately Atris struck Raytha down, saving her master's life.
Devastated by the ordeal, Tierekk held himself responsible for Raytha's turn to the dark side. Nevertheless, he would often remark in the following years that he was proud of his surviving Padawan for remaining true to the light. Atris was knighted after the Great Sith War, and would eventually become a Jedi Master herself.
Tierekk's ultimate fate is unknown, but he is presumed to have passed away or been killed before the end of the Jedi Purge.
