Toph Bei Fong was a member of the Rebel Alliance and a former slave. She was the daughter of Lao Bei Fong, a businessman who supported the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Lao was discovered by the Galactic Empire in 11 BBY and executed, while Toph was taken into slavery and eventually forced to work on the Death Star project.
