Rise of the Empire eraRebellion era

The tomb of Darth Syrinn was a small cave on Yavin 4 that was repurposed in 689 BBY to house the remains of Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Syrinn, as well as her Sith holocron. It also contained a tribe of dormant Massassi warriors from thousands of years prior, that were controlled by Syrinn through the Force, even in death. In 3 ABY, the tomb was discovered by a group of Imperials led by Delof Terallo, and the holocron was removed from the tomb, although the Sith Lord's remains were left untouched.

Description[]

Darth Syrinn's tomb was a nondescript cavern on the jungle moon Yavin 4, that comprised a long snaking pathway leading to a large circular chamber - this was where Syrinn's holocron was located. Her actual remains were stored somewhere deeper in the cave, in a sealed-off area. Syrinn's followers installed a trap for potential grave robbers by setting up a boulder suspended by a rope to swing down.

Syrinn had visited the cavern several months before her death, and discovered a large tribe of Massassi warriors from the era of Exar Kun were lying in stasis in the chamber. They awoke upon sensing her Force potential, but she sent them back into their dormant state and managed to continue that hold on them, even after she died. It was decreed in her will that she was to be interred in the cavern, and her Sith apprentice (and killer) ensured her plans were carried out.

History[]

In 3 ABY, the tomb was located and explored by Delof Terallo, Zekk Ryen, R5-C3 and Dija Kullias. They found the dormant Massassi warriors and accidentally awakened them; the tribe then killed Ryen in a blood sacrifice, and Terallo and R5-C3 were forced further into the cavern while Kullias escaped. Terallo then discovered Syrinn's holocron, and she appeared to him as the artifact's gatekeeper, offering to train him in the dark side using the holocron's stored knowledge, but he refused and contacted the Imperial Reclamation Service, who arrived to take the holocron. As her remains were instilled in an unknown sealed-off cavern further down, they were not taken.

Behind the Scenes[]

Darth Syrinn's tomb was created, and serves as a major location, for HarmonyGrex's first Star Wars fan fiction short story. It reappeared in the first chapter of the sequel, Survival, and the final chapter of Dark Sirens.
