To The West, My Family and I Go was a popular Colonial song from the Zarkan Kingdom which was written and published in 64 BBY.

The song concerns an emigrant and his family who are taking a one-way trip to the Western Colonies of the Zarkan Empire, far on the other side of an ocean to the west of the Zarkan Kingdom.

The patriarch of the family, from whom the song is sung from the perspective of, is expressing his excitement at the new land and lives that await them, having heard of the beautiful land that exists in the colonies from his friends that have already moved over there.

Eager to make his own farm in that land, he buys a one-way ticket for him and his family aboard a ship bound for the Western Colonies, where they shall run their own family farm in the beautiful countryside of the Colonies.

The song was considered one of the "Songs of the Pioneers", a collection of songs concerning the building of the Colonies, and of Colonial life.

There is a place, told in many tales,
A Promised Land, far to the West,
Of azure rivers and rolling dales,
And golden fields, Corn of the best!

O! Paradise of the West!
To the West, My Family and I Go!
We'll plant our crops, and the fields a-hoe,
And then under the sun we'll rest!

I've booked a one-way passage,
On a ship bound to the Star of the West,
We're a-standing on the dock with our luggage,
Hearts a-pounding in our chests!

O! Paradise of the West!
To the West, My Family and I Go!
We'll plant our crops, and the fields a-hoe,
And then under the sun we'll rest!

My friends already o'er there,
Tell me that a new life awaits,
Of honest work, in God's care,
Tilling the fields of Viceregal states!

O! Paradise of the West!
To the West, My Family and I Go!
We'll plant our crops, and the fields a-hoe,
And then under the sun we'll rest!

Our ship is setting a-sail,
In a week, we'll be far to the West,
We'll build our farm in a happy vale,
And our work begins o'er fields the best!

O! Paradise of the West!
To the West, My Family and I Go!
We'll plant our crops, and the fields a-hoe,
And then under the sun we'll rest!
