The Tjariik-class light cruiser, named for the Sith Lord Crastos Tjariik who developed it, was a small warship of the Sith fleet during the time of the Old Republic. It saw renewed use in the Ta'asyak Za`vek under Khrado Ragnos, but given how hopelessly outdated its technology was, it could only be remodeled to a light escort and scout craft.

Characteristics and capabilities[]

Like most Sith warships, the Tjariik cruiser was bulbous and somewhat insectoid in appearance. The command deck had two large, tinted transparisteel viewports, which heightened the insectoid look. While its armaments in Old Republic times were sufficient to engage enemy capital ships, even with updated weaponry it was not configured appropriately for this purpose. As a result, Khrado Ragnos and Tak Sakaros used it as a scout and escort ship. The Tjariik featured three powerful engines that made it much faster than most Sith craft, as well as a small hangar bay which could carry a dozen Sith fighters for rapid deployment.

In the face of much more powerful craft like the Eliminator- and Devastator-class War Cruisers, let alone the Sith Star, the Tjariik was a clearly inferior ship-of-the-line. As a result, the commanders of the Sith fleet left it for guard duty on totally pacified worlds, or else sent it to scout from a distance. In light of this latter use, Tak Sakaros had two of his Tjariik Cruisers equipped with long-range scanners to determine system defense before the rest of his fleet attacked.
