Lord Titus Astagon was an influential Tapani noble of House Mecetti. He sat on House Mecetti's Privy Council and was responsible for the most comprehensive intelligence network the Mecetti controlled, with agents active both in the Tapani sector and throughout the galaxy. He was a colleague and collaborator of Lady Menal Bathiriat, and knew that she commanded the shadowy Mecrosa Order, though Astagon was not a member of the Order himself.
In 154 ABY, Astagon's agents on Coruscant informed him that an antiquities dealer planned to sell two highly valuable and illegal Sith holocrons. He in turn informed Lady Bathiriat and helped arrange covers and supplies for the Mecrosa team she sent to obtain the holocrons.
