The Tip family was the ruling house of Mikkia, homeworld of the Mikkian species from their capital city of Tippumasar. Two of the house's members, Tiplee and Tiplar, were members of the Jedi Order. Another member of the house named Tipkren represented Mikkia in the Galactic Senate and was later a leading member of the Mikkian resistance that opposed his homeworld's Imperial occupation.
Mikkia's defense force was known as the Tipagaram in the Mikkian language, which meant "Guardians of Tip".
