Tiger Battalion was a special forces unit of the Imperial Remnant military forces. It was formed by Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon as his personal unit, which carried out operations for him. The battalion was mainly made up of former stormtroopers of various ranks and specializations. Members of the unit usually wore field stormtrooper armor, and sometimes storm commando armor, but was known to use different uniforms and gear depending on the operation. The battalion also utilized was the Exogen-class dark troopers. The Tiger Battalion carried out different special operations, ranging from espionage to assassinations to counterterrorism. New Republic Intelligence, in a report from 28 ABY, noted that they knew very little about this shadowy group other than the fact that it was being used by Pellaeon to carry out operations against the Yuuzhan Vong.
