The Third Clone Wars, also known as the Dark Clone Wars, was the name given to the galaxy-wide conflict which ultimately erupted in 64 ABY and ended in 73 ABY. In this chaotic, horrifying, and dreadful war, former clone troopers of the Galactic Republic's fallen Great Clone Forces who had survived Order 50-1 rose to uphold a rebellion against the Dark Galactic Republic, forming their own Clone Rebel Alliance in their fight for liberty.

Since the end of the Second Clone Wars, with victory in the hands of the Republic, leftover clones were then deemed useless, beside having been labelled as prisoners of war and exterminated by the public. These clone troopers were forced into hiding from the world, and a majority of them began new lives, working as ordinary citizens throughout the galaxy.

Prelude[]

During the issuing of Order 50-1, about six thousand clone troopers defected from the Galactic Republic. The new Supreme Chancellor, a Sith Lord in disguise, ordered for all clones of the Clone Forces to be labelled as fugitives and exterminated. This event forced the remaining clone soldiers to retreat into hiding.

Off the grid, Arc gathered with just about three hundred other surviving clone troopers, and began planning an uprising against the Dark Republic. Due to lack of men, the clones headed for a devastated Kamino to request help from the Kaminoans in cloning themselves. The Kaminoans began a new cloning operation as their cloning facilities recovered.
