The Third Battle of Haalthor was a small battle that occurred a few weeks before the Battle of Endor.

Prelude[]

After bombing the capitol city of Haalthor, the Imperials sent down multiple transports in order to regain a better hold on the planet and to reinforce the troopers who were already on the planet. Not knowing this, the Rebel Alliance sent down numerous rescue teams down to the planet in an effort to aid the citizens. A small number of TIEs began to scout the ruins for survivors but were spotted by a small Rebel group. They manned their Armored Sentinel Transports and took after them, not realizing that there were more Imperials.

Battle[]

Six Armored Sentinel Transports flew after the TIEs and opened fire. They were led by Owen Arrenaxe, a veteran of the Clone Wars. The group managed to destroy three of the TIE fighters but the other one and the Interceptor managed to stay out of their reach. The TIEs were leading them into a gorge which opened up into a lake with a few islands and had several defensive turrets and Imperial forces. The TIE fighter was shot down shortly before reaching the end of the gorge, but the Interceptor managed to get through. Upon reaching the lake, the Rebels saw that they were outgunned. Within a minute Marin Doyu was shot down just as Arrenaxe was calling for backup. A few moments later, Arrenaxe went down as well. The remaining pilots attempted to escape, but Anti-craft turrets that were strategically placed prevented them from leaving. One of the remaining Sentinels was damaged by enemy fire and it looked like the others would fall but reinforcements arrived. The attack was being led by the Jedi, Jirachi Kna and Kiracho Tolth, who were bringing in dropships in order to take out the tanks and air defense towers while they took care of the Anti-craft towers. The Althirian Blade managed to use its heavy weaponry to take out the majority of the guns before turning on the defense towers. The ground forces were overrunning the Imperials and the battle was soon over. The Imperial weaponry that survived the battle was then used by the Rebels.
