Thinius Tann was a human male who served within the Galactic Empire until his death on the Executor, at Endor.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Thinius Tann was born to Ida Tann and Torr Tann in 39 BBY, before the Clone Wars. He would grow up alongside his brother; Themus Tann. Their father would often tell them stories of his service during the Clone Wars.

In Service of the Empire[]

Early Service[]

Thinius Tann would join the Imperial Navy alongside his brother after being inspired by their father's stories of his service during the Clone Wars. Thinius Tann would excel in the Imperial Academy on Kuat, receiving top grades. It was noted that he was timid, and ill suited for combat roles by his Instructors. He would graduate shortly before the Clone Wars ended in 19 BBY. Thinius Tann's natural talent for administrative work would lead to his rapid promotion to Staff Lieutenant in 12 BBY, at the age of twenty-five. Due to his talent for administrative work, he would be assigned to Death Squadron, on the Star Destroyer Avenger as it's Chief Administrative Officer. Around the time of the Battle of Endor, he would be stationed on the Executor's bridge, as part of it's bridge crew.

Battle of Endor[]

Thinius Tann was placed in command of one of the Executor's two command pits on the right during the battle. According to the Executor's flight data recorder, he gave several contradictory orders to gunners during the battle, and had no understanding of the ship's armaments.

Death[]

Gunners! Protect the bridge! Intensify forward firepower!
—Thinius Tann's last words before his death

He would perish on the Executor when an A-Wing crashed into the Executor's bridge killing the entire bridge crew. His final order was to relay Piett's orders to intensify forward firepower to the gunners in his command pit. The Executor would then plunge into the Second Death Star, destroying it.

Legacy[]

He would be remembered as a weak and indecisive leader by many, due to his actions during the Battle of Endor. Historians would credit him with contributing to the destruction of the Executor's bridge due to his contradictory orders to the ship's gunners. His brother, Themus Tann, would later on seek to partially restore his brother's reputation; even naming a ship after him. His brother would only be partially successful in this endeavor, changing the perception that he was timid, instead weak and indecisive. This change of perception would only be seen in new generations of Imperial officers and the older generation's perception would not change.

Personality and Traits[]

Thinius Tann was a timid individual, leading to panic attacks in stressful situations. He would have such a panic attack during the Battle of Endor, leading him to give contradictory orders to the Executor's gunners.

Skills and Abilities[]

Thinius Tann was very good at administrative work and would have made a good Taskmaster, at the Imperial Academy on Kuat. He was a fast learner and was able to process information very quickly. If too much information was given to him in a short amount of time though, he would panic.

Behind the Scenes[]

WW2Buff2018 designed Thinius Tann with the intention for him to be an individual with ADHD, though this isn't stated in this article, and instead is implied. Thinius Tann's character is based around an unnamed Lieutenant that appears on the Executor during the Original Trilogy of Star Wars.
