The galaxy is the unnamed main setting of the Star Wars films and the setting of the high majority of other Star Wars continuities, including fanon works. It was one of the supposed billions of galaxies that existed within the universe. A black hole existed within the center surrounded by millions of planets and stars. At the edge of the galaxy was a disk of unknown matter that originally prevented hyperspace travel outside of the disk, although this disk was later penatrated, with the assistance of multiple Jedi and the the Force. The galaxy contained roughly twenty million different sentient lifeforms.
