The Alternate Star Wars was a novel that was to be written by Bigman602. The novel had a number of nicknames. The author believed one of its major draws is that it changed the outcome of the story just by changing events from Star Wars canon.

When author Bigman602 was bored, he thought of an idea that, in his view, would change Star Wars forever. He started to plan out his new series, which he calls The Alternate Star Wars Trilogy. Originally, it was meant to tell stories from 32 BBY–18 BBY, but Bigman602 decided to create a sequel trilogy as well. He hopes that it will be an online novel that will always be remembered, and that it will be published and become a "smashing hit."
On April 17, 2010, Bigman602 announced that anyone may write a part for each story. The two conditions to this are that those who wish to write one of these parts must let Bigman602 know about it, and that if he does not like it he reserves the right to erase it.
