Strictly speaking, you're right. The clone troopers lack rights and representation and, essentially, are classified as Kaminoan property. They're also the bravest and kindest men I've ever had the privilege of meeting. They are still flesh and blood and soul, just as you or I. Just because their treatment is permitted under Republic law doesn't mean that it's acceptable. It doesn't mean that we can't - shouldn't - do better.
—Tesera Malvin

Tesera Malvin was a female Zelosian Jedi Knight who served during the last years of the Galactic Republic. As a Jedi General, Malvin served in the Grand Army of the Republic that fought against the Separatist Droid Army during the Clone Wars. Prior to the oubreak of the Clone Wars, Malvin learned the ways of the Force as the Padawan of Jedi Master Firith Tarkona.

Malvin was Knighted shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars and, like many young Jedi, was thrust into the unexpected position of Jedi General within the newly formed Grand Army of the Republic. As a General, she commanded the clone troopers of the 197th Attack Battalion, with Clone Commander CC-4975 "Ash" serving at her side. In the early months of the war, she would also take Enari Cilvana as her Padawan following the death of the latter's first master.

Throughout the conflict, Malvin and her forces fought on worlds throughout the galaxy, including Myuna, Geonosis, Rekkiad, and Coruscant. As the war drew to an end, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine instructed the clones to execute Order 66, resulting in a sudden purge of the Jedi Order at the hands of the clone troopers. Malvin and Cilvana only narrowly avoided execution thanks to the intervention of Alpha-class Advanced Recon Commando Captain Alpha-83 "Kestrel", whose unique conditioning and modified genetic profile rendered the behavioral modification biochip ineffective.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Tesera Malvin was born on the distant world of Zelos II. A Force-sensitive individual, Malvin was discovered by the Jedi Order and accepted for training at a young age. Apprenticed to Jedi Master Firith Tarkona, Malvin passed her Jedi Trials and ascended to the rank of Jedi Knight by the year 22 BBY.

Mission to Arandi Prime[]

Immediately following her ascension to the rank of Jedi Knight, Malvin was assigned a solo mission to the planet of Arandi Prime to investigate reports of ongoing civil tension. Upon her arrival, Malvin learned that the political situation on the agriworld had since deteriorated further, with the pro-Republic faction under attack from several extremist groups. With diplomacy no longer a feasible approach, Malvin focused on protecting the surviving member of the ruling family until the Republic could send further reinforcements. Unbeknownst to her, the Republic had since engaged the Confederacy of Independent Systems in open warfare.

Battle of Myuna[]

Shortly after the Republic invasion of Arandi Prime, Malvin was ordered to the Myuna System. Republic forces that had deployed to the system to maintain Republic control of the Fralian Hyperlane had gone dark, and Malvin was ordered to take her battalion and re-establish a Republic presence planetside and determine the fate of the vanguard.

Death[]

Post-mortem[]

Personality and traits[]

Tesera Malvin was noted for her kindness and compassion towards those she cared for, sometimes struggling to balance that compassion with her sense of purpose and duty as a Jedi. Her sense of loyalty and care for those around her won the adoration of the troopers of the 197th Attack Battalion, and she worked endlessly to not only improve the quality of life for her own troops, but also to push for legal representation and improve the treatment of clones on a galactic scale. However, this loyalty and benevolence was not without its failings, as demonstrated throughout the Clone Wars, where she found it difficult to show sympathy or understanding for enemy forces that had attacked her troops.

Powers and abilities[]

Considered a competent lightsaber combatant, Malvin was highly proficient in Form III and also practiced Form VI. Her abilities as a duelist were sufficiently developed that she was able to engage the infamous Jedi killer General Grievous and survive, albeit with serious injuries. She was a capable starfighter pilot and was considered an excellent strategist with a focus on urban warfare and counterinsurgency tactics.

Equipment[]

Malvin utilized a green-bladed lightsaber during her time as a Jedi Padawan. This lightsaber would be destroyed during her mission to Arandi Prime, and she would go on to construct a second blue-bladed lightsaber, which she used throughout the Clone Wars. In the early months of the Clone Wars, Malvin would continue to wear traditional Jedi tunics and robes, but eventually agreed to wear a set of Jedi Commander armor to assuage the concerns of her men.

During the Clone Wars, Malvin flew her own Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor, which she customized with a personalized paintjob and nicknamed the Dragonfly. Malvin also flew a captured PB-950 Patrol Boat, which she named the Mynock's Grace and used primarily for undercover or low profile missions. Her Republic Navy taskforce was led by the Venator-class Star Destroyer Huntress, which served as her flagship for the entirety of the Clone Wars.
