The Ternins were a race of humanoid simians from the Expansion Region planet Ternin.

The Ternins were lanky simian humanoids with brown fur, red eyes, and wing-like eyebrows.
Society and culture[]
Ternins could work for any affiliation and occupation, and could speak in their own language. They could also speak Basic. They were the makers of the Ternin tree sling weapon. They were one of the 5 million sentient species (alien races) known to the Empire in the galaxy. The planetary demonym for their homeworld is the same as their species name.
History[]
The Ternins were the sentient descendants of a non-sentient simian species. They evolved on Ternin, a jungle planet located in the Ternin system within the Alchenaut sector in the Expansion Region. Their homeworld was explored sometime between 3000 BBY and 1000 BBY during the Blazing of Hydian to Ruusan. It fell into the area of space known as the Western Reaches. It became a part of Republic Space during the Clone Wars. In 25 ABY, their homeworld's population was up to 10 million. Their homeworld became a part of the Darth Krayt's Sith Empire in 137 ABY.
