The Telmorine Empire was an isolated nation of Magick users located in the galactic south west within the Unknown Regions. The Empire could track its origin back to the Old Republic during the Hundred-Year Darkness. It was formed from a union of Magick users who wanted to flee from the bloodshed caused by the Jedi and the Sith Orders. The Empire was led by the Telmorine Emperor. After an incursion of a Tarzin scout fleet into their territories, the Telmorine Empire decided to leave their sanctuary and wage war against the Asmar Imperium, which had conquered nearby systems bordering the Unknown Regions, both neutral systems and systems aligned with the New Republic. The Telmorine Empire, while distrustful of the Jedi order which was fighting on the New Republic's side, quickly allied with the New Republic and formed a united front against the Asmar invasion.

History[]

Origin and founding[]

The Telmorine Empire was formed near the end of the Hundred-Year Darkness that also saw the formation of the Sith Order. The Empire was originally formed by a group of Magick users that only wished for peace and didn't want to be dragged into the conflict to help either side develop weapons of mass destruction, like the Sith Superweapon on Malachor. When this could not be achieved, the Telmorine fled into the Unknown Regions where they settled on a planet they named Telmor. With powerful Magicks, powered by both the light and dark side of the Force, they created a star cluster wide barrier that cloaked the entire cluster from the visual spectrum and even from powerful Force users. While the Telmorine first united under the banner of the Telmorine Conclave, the Conclave was quickly reformed into the Telmorine Empire after they had created their barrier. This was due to political infighting between the people who only drew power from either the dark and light side of the Force. Fearing war between the two sides, the peacekeeping forces of the Conclave struck down hard on any riots and troublemakers. This, however, backfired horribly as it only sparked hatred for the government and the Conclave was on the brink of civil war. It was only when an unknown priest of the Unified Force faith appeared and began teaching of the unity of the Force. This priest eventually managed to quell the two oppositions with his teachings and he was named the first Emperor of the Telmorines, even getting named after the planet itself which his decedents would carry on. While the Telmorine Empire used to be a theocratic empire, the faith soon lost its power over the throne in the centuries after the formation of the Telmorine Empire. The Telmor bloodline, however, would continue to keep its political power and, as such, turned the Empire into an absolute monarchy.

Pre-Legacy Era[]

The Telmorine Empire would experience relative peace throughout the ages. Only a hand full of major rebellions and uprisings have been occurred during the Empire's long history. These major conflicts left deep marks in the Telmorine history and saw great leaps in development of military technology and combat Magicks.

Asmar Imperium Incursion[]

The Asmar Imperium Incursion marks the beginning of the Telmorines' preparations to lower their millenniums long barrier and initiate the military campaigns that would later be called the Telmorine Wars. The Incursion were entirely accidental on the Asmar's part as a fleet was scouting the area for potential Hyperspace routes to better reach the southern parts of the galaxy. The fleet unfortunately arrived near one of the Telmorines' fortress worlds which had a massive fleet docked within it's orbital dockyards. A great battle ensured with the Telmorine causing great losses to the Asmar scout fleet. The few barely intact Asmar ships' systems were sliced for information on the affairs of the galaxy.

Emergence War[]

Seeing that the Asmar Imperium was focused on the ongoing Asmar Imperium-New Republic War, the Telmorine Empire began to prepare to retaliate against the Asmar controlled systems which bordered the Unknown Regions near their own territories. A plan was even made to attack and liberate the Chiss Ascendancy, though this plan was put on hold due to the hard resistance the Telmorine Empire faced outside the Unknown Regions.

Liberation of Termaran[]

Blue Glass Arrow Main article: Liberation of Termaran

Termaran, while not part of the New Republic, had been targeted and occupied by the Asmar due to its vital industrial capabilities, turning the planet's production from a mostly civilian industry into a world which greatly aided the Asmar Imperium's war effort. The Telmorine military sought to liberate the world from the Asmar Imperium to cripple their supply lines. The Asmar had also seen the world's strategic advantages and so had stationed a sizeable garrison on the planet to fend off any invaders. The Telmorine, nonetheless, deemed Termaran's liberation as a priority for their continued war effort, hoping to gain access to the planet's heavy industry themselves. The Temaran's, however, had struck a deal with the Asmar Imperium and had joined forces with them in hope of avoiding the devastation that an Asmar invasion would have wrought. This forced the Telmorine to not only do battle with the Asmar garrison but also the Termaran Security Force, a somewhat capable planetary defense force mostly backed by battle droids. The Termaran Security Force also operated a small fleet of capital ships which defended the planet and the star system.

The opening weeks of the Liberation of Termaran was brutal as the Telmorine hit hard and fast. The Termarian defense fleet was quickly defeated but the majority of the fleet managed to flee to the outer reaches of the system and hide in the system's outer asteroid belt. This forced the Telmorine to slow down their overall offensive as warships were forced to be redeployed to hunt down the scattered elements of Termarian ships. On Termaran itself the resistance fighters were putting up a good fight against the Telmorine occupation but were short on men and supplies to fight back effectively.

Battle of Ferenas[]

Seeing that brute force was not going to work in the long run as shown with the Liberation of Termaran, the Telmorine hired smugglers to smuggle a small army of Telmorine Special Operation Soldiers and Warlocks to the heavily fortified planet of Feranas, a planet which managed a New Republic Military Academy but had fallen to the Asmar Imperium during the incursions into the southern parts of the New Republic. The strike team managed to move with speed, taking out the planet's communication network and an important ground based airfield that housed the majority of the planet's star fighter fleet.

The smugglers made use of their underworld connections to retrieve the flight plans of a cargo hauler which the smugglers and a force of Telmorine Marines attacked and commandeered, killing the original crew in the attack. The captain of the vessel was left alive and mind controlled by a Telmorine Warlock. Having taken control of the vessel and loaded it up with Telmorine Spec Ops troops.

Unknown Regions Campaigns[]

The Unknown Regions Campaigns were a series of military campaigns where the Telmorine Empire turned their focus on the Unknown Regions in their war against the Asmar. During these campaigns, the Telmorines conquered and subjugated several new species which they added to their military as auxiliary forces to supplement their depleted military after the battles against the Asmar. While many of these species were former slave species to the Asmar Imperium, some saw the Telmorines takeover as the leash simply being passed over to another tyrant.

Territories[]

Thalaor Cluster[]

The Thalaor Star cluster, also known as the Thalaor Globular Cluster, was a globular cluster consisting of roughly two and a half thousand to three thousand star systems though only one and a half thousand of these systems had celestial bodies and only a third of these planets had the right condition for harboring life or could be terraformed to support life. The Telmorine Empire spent considerable resources to terraform and settle on these planets. Additionally the Telmorine Empire constructed several orbital habitat stations across their empire that were mostly self-sustaining, the ancient space station orbiting the Black Hole, Magra'gol, where the barrier's source originated from was one such station though it was unique in many regards.

Telmore, the de jure capital of the Telmorine Empire, was located near the center of the cluster though it was off to the galactic right by a few dozen light years. The Magra'gol Station, the de facto capital of the Telmorine Empire, was located at the very center and acted as both the imperial palace of the Telmorine Emperor and the site from where the Telmorine Magickers maintained the barrier around the cluster.

Outside the Thalaor territories[]

In the aftermath of the Liberation of Termaran, the Telmorine had only control of one planet outside the Thalaor Cluster and even outside the Unknown Regions. From Temaran, the Telmorine forces seemed to mobilize for further conquest into the Galaxy at large, seemingly planning to attack planets not aligned with any of the major factions in the Galaxy that bordered the Unknown Regions.

Culture[]

Duty never ends, not even in death.
—A Telmorine saying

The Telmorine was largely a human nation with only a few near-humans species, such as the Zeltrons, and widely practiced Magicks which they used to power and control most of their technology. The Telmorine usually shunned droids as the galaxy at large understood them. This was due to their preferences to fuse the spirits of their dead to their corpses or inanimate objects to serve as labor and soldiers.

Telmorine culture became more militaristic over the centuries due to keeping peace between the dark and light side users within the empire. This has forced the government to issue more and more strict laws concerning control over its population as users of the light and dark came into conflict with each other.

Telmorine architecture was described as an odd mixture of Naboo architecture and the architecture usually found on Coruscant. The architecture's colors were usually dominated by silver walls and brownish red roofs.

Magick[]

You're a fool to think that Magicks can only be powered by the Dark side of the Force, Jedi. I could incorporate the Light side into my spells to heal wounds, make plants grow, or purify water for the needy. Where do you see the powers of the Dark side in that?
—A Telmorine Warlock on the many different uses of Light sided magicks.

Magick played a huge part in the Telmorines everyday lives. Most of the Telmorine nobility was taught Magick to some extent though many never really refined their abilities to called true Magick users. For some noble houses, however, Magicks were a sign of status and so sought to produce the powerful Magick users.

Force sensitives within the Empire[]

Force sensitives within the Telmorine Empire were extremely rare and always very treasured. When a Force sensitive was discovered, no matter their upbringing or social standing, they were forced to leave behind their family, if they had any, and be taken in by the Unified Force Faith to be taught the ways of the legendary Telmorine Force Knights.

Religion[]

May the Light illuminate your path and the Darkness cast away those who would do you harm.
—A common Telmorine blessing

The Telmorine worshiped both the light and dark side of the Force at the same time, calling it the Unified Force. Due to their magick nature and extremely low percentage of people being Force-sensitive, the Telmorine were never truly able to achieve the might of the Force. Instead, they sought balance in the Force between the dark and the light. Many Telmorine mages dedicated their lives to study the Force to achieve this balance while others simply decided to draw their powers from either one of the sides while others yet again used both but were "out of balance" which weakened their powers or took a great toll on their bodies.

The teachings of the Unified Force was forced upon the citizens of conquered planets during the Telmorine Wars though the effect of this forced conversion were limited due to the outcome of the wars and only the planets that still remained under Telmorine occupation have seem an steady increase of believers of the Telmorine religion.

Government[]

While the Telmorine Empire was an absolute monarchy, the crown distributed its power to a number of organizations under it's control, directly or indirectly.

Ruler of the Telmorine Empire[]

The Telmorine Empire was ruled by either an Emperor or Empress who held all executive and legislative power within the empire. Their word were law, though they were usually assisted in running the Empire by hordes of officials and advisers to help them that they either appointed themselves or were promoted in some other way.

Imperial Court[]

The Imperial Court was the executive judicial branch of the Telmorine Empire and consisted of the ministers of the different ministries. These included, but limited to, the Ministers of infrastructure, education, welfare, economy, defense, magicks, foreign affairs and law and enforcement. The Telmorine ruler was the head of the court and had the final say in all matters though he or she was not expected to take part in all meeting.

Sector Lords were nobles tasked with overseeing the affairs of an entire Telmorine sector and should not be confused with the much larger regions of space that makes up the sectors of the Galaxy. The Sector Lords held considerable power within their designated sectors and were responsible for overseeing the Planetary Lords on each habitable planet or habitat under their jurisdiction.

Telmorine Royal Senate[]

The Telmorine Royal Senate was the legislative branch of the Empire and consisted of handpicked representatives of the Telmorine Sector Lords or the Lords themselves if they so desired to show up. The ruler, or a trusted representative, was the chairman of the Royal Senate.

Grand Hall of Imperial Judgement[]

The Grand Hall of Imperial Judgement was the highest judicial forum in the Telmorine empire and consisted of a council of judges. The council consisted of a total of 99 judges. Underneath the Grand Hall was the High Hall which dealt with matter that were deemed less importance that didn't require the attention of the Grand Hall and, perhaps, the involvement of the ruler.

Council of Warlords[]

The Council of Warlords consisted of the Warlords, including the Supreme Warlord, and the ruler of the Empire. The Council advised the Telmorine ruler in all military matters that concerned national security or of equal importance that required military deployment. The Council handed down orders to the Telmorine High Command, which oversaw the day-to-day operation of the entire military, which again handed down orders to the Telmorine Naval Command, the Telmorine Ground Command and the Telmorine Warlock Command.

Technology[]

Most of the Telmorine Empire's technology was based around Magicks since the vast majority of it's population could do preform mundane magicks at the very least. This allowed the Empire to adapt to a way of living that were heavily influenced by magicks in the day to day life of Telmorine citizens. Everything from communication devices and powering a starship interacted with magicks in some way or another.

Power generators[]

Much of the Telmorines' technology was powered by Magick energies or in some way interacted with Magicks. The Telmorine had long since abandoned power sources usually found in the rest of the Galaxy for Magicks power generators. These generators seemed to produce seemingly unlimited power but Force-sensitive individuals could quickly conclude that these generators somehow drew power from the Force and that these things hae an influence of their own. Some young Force-Sensitives which had come into contact with a Magick power generator could tell that they would somehow be drawn towards it as if it was whispering to them and manipulating their thoughts and body. Whatever the reason had been it seemed to have no effect on Telmorine Force-Sensitives.

Necro Pylons[]

Necro Pylons are horrible and disturbing machines fused with Magicks that act as control stations for the Telmorine Necros. Necro Pylons comes in many different sizes and shapes but are most commonly shaped as rectangular obelisks with arcane scripts across its surface. Necros will become inactive, seeming dropping dead, in the absence of a Necro Pylon. Targeting and destroying the Necro Pylons proved to an effective way to disrupt Telmorine supply lines and security that rely on Necro staff and troopers.

Magicks Weaponry[]

The Majority of Telmorine weapons utilized and projected magick blasts instead of the plasma energy launched by the typical blasters of the Galaxy.

Military[]

Blue Glass Arrow Main article: Telmorine Military

The Telmorine Military, also known as the Telmorine Armed Forces, consisted mainly of three branches: the Telmorine Army, the Telmorine Navy and the Telmorine Warlock Hosts. While the Empire's military intelligence branch was technically under the Navy's command, it usually operated independently with it's highest ranking member usually having a seat in the Naval Admiralty Council as well as the Emperor's War Council.

Navy[]

Blue Glass Arrow Main article: Telmorine Navy

Telmorine warships were usually designed with several bulbous sections and an organic style. They were armed with Telmorine weapon systems such as Seeker Emitters and Magick Beam Projectors. The Telmorine's spend trillions of Telmorine Shards on modernizing their fleet in the years before their military campaigns into the known Galaxy. This allowed them to field an impressive fleet of warships against the Asmar controlled planets that they first targeted during the Emergence War. The Telmorine Navy focused on versatility and flexibility of their fleets, usually forming well-rounded fleets that were able to take on most challenges and adept to what their enemy brought to the field of battle.

Army[]

Blue Glass Arrow Main article: Telmorine Army

The Telmorine Army consisted of well trained and well equipped soldiers, aiming for quality over quantity, that were heavily supported by legions of Necro Troopers and the mystic powers of the Telmorine Warlocks of the Telmorine Warlock Hosts. The Telmorine Army utilized powered armor for most of their soldiers, including Necro Troopers. Lightly armored infantry were also used for shock attacks which wasn't equipped with powered armor.

The Infantry made use of the FT-89 Magick Carbine, IL-112 Magick Rifle as their primary weapons while the RE-5 Magick heavy pistol was the universal sidearm along with a Vibro-blade for utility and personal melee defense. The majority of the Army's Necro Legions made use of the Talon-Class Medium Powered Armor while living combat personal made use of Claw-Class Heavy Powered Armor and Telmorine Light Infantry Armor

Telmorine Warlock Hosts[]

Blue Glass Arrow Main article: Telmorine Warlock Hosts

The Telmorine Warlock Hosts was the combat orientated branch of the Academies of Magicks which focused on applying heavy close range support to other elements of the Telmorine military. Their magical powers made them a powerful force projection to either break through enemy lines or reinforce collapsing friendly positions.

An elite force of Warlocks known as the Warlock Praetorians were handpicked Warlocks that were tasted with the protection of the royal family and the Ruler of the Empire. The Warlock Praetorians were equipped with heavier armor enhanced with Magick to boost their offensive and defensive capabilities. Furthermore, they had all been through rigorous training to enhance both their bodies and magical powers far above regular warlocks.
