After the kingship descended from heaven, the kingship was on Lehon. On Lehon, Tas'pir became king; he ruled for 2000 years.
—Rakatan King List
Tas'pir was an ancient monarch who was said to have been the first Over-Predor and thus the founder of the Rakata Infinite Empire, according to information contained in the Rakatan King List. The list also referred to him as "the son of heaven."
His existence remained disputed by historians and resources during the times of the Old Republic and the Galactic Empire. The King List stated that he ruled for a period of 2,000 years, leading some to doubt his existence, and as of the Age of the Empire no other recovered artifact or archeological finding recorded the existence of Tas'pir. Whether the length of his reign was fictitious or a product of the Rakata's natural ability in the dark side of the Force was debated. Some suggested that he was purely mythological, while others contended that he did indeed exist around 40,000 BBY.
His species was also a matter of contention as vague references in the King List suggested that he may have been a Kwa, a reptilian race from Dathomir that discovered Lehon and introduced technology to the more primitive Rakata, although the list did not specifically state Tas'pir's race. The "son of heaven" title may have been a reference to his foreign origin.
